Three categories: essential (always on), analytics (opt-in), advertising (opt-in). Nothing non-essential loads before you say yes.

Essential

Required for the site to function: session/authentication state, theme preference, your cookie-consent decision itself, and security protections. These cannot be switched off because the site does not work without them.

Analytics (opt-in)

Anonymous usage measurement — which pages are visited and whether signup works smoothly. Used in aggregate to improve the site. Loaded only after you accept analytics cookies.

Advertising (opt-in)

If ads are enabled on the site, visitors who consent see ads served by Google advertising services, which set cookies to measure and (if consented) personalize ads. No ad scripts load without consent.

Managing your choices

The consent banner appears on first visit. Change your mind anytime via Account → Settings → Cookie preferences, or clear cookies in your browser to see the banner again. Rejecting non-essential cookies never blocks anything. Related reading: Privacy Policy and Advertising Disclosure.
